The Dark Tower

Many years ago they made a movie out of the game Clue. And now there are plans to make movies out of Battleship and Monopoly. So maybe I got my hopes up a little too high when I heard of the plans for a Dark Tower movie. šŸ™‚

(NOTE – sorry, I got my dates mixed up – my fingers evidently hit “9” when I meant to hit “8” Sorry!!

Watch Your Intake

No one I know does this anymore. That is not to say that I did not come close when I was young and foolish.

Some people may wonder why there are no comments on any of the cartoons on this site. That is because no commentary is allowed until I have approved it, first. I get a lot of comments, and every single one of them have thus far been simply poorly disguised attempts at spam. šŸ™

A New Career

It’s the summer, which means the studios are rolling out their latest batch of comic-book inspired fare. Which made my mind wander (as it usually does) to recollections of those comics and the outlandish costumes they wore. I thought of the outfits the females wereĀ attiredĀ in and the thought “it’s like a swim suit, only worse” sprung to mind. Then I imagined the comic strip character who had the most difficulties with swimsuits and what she might have to say about it. Well, yeah, it kind of writes itself.

Rules to Game Size Ratio

Maybe it’s just me, but recently I’ve run across several games that promise big things in tiny packages. They have fantastic production values, wonderful art and they seem to be very efficient with the way they use their materials to squeeze everything into one small box. Then they make everything useless by including a set of rules that make the Congressional Record look like the Adventures of Dick and Jane. I don’t know why that is, but it’s a trend I hope does not last much longer. At any rate, I’ll be looking at these things a lot longer and harder before purchasing.

Planned Obsolescence

Since the DS was first introduced, this is the first time that Nintendo has introduced a new format that is incompatible with older versions. It also appears that most (if not all) new DS games will not be playable on older systems. Since I have no interest in buying a completely new DS system (again!) it might be a very long time before I buy a new game to play on my DS. Thanks, Nintendo!
